Heiko says:
"Heiko go get back in bed, it's night time."
"Storm troopers don't sleep, mom."
"Here comes Dark Vader. Here comes Dark Vader. I'm going to the restaurant to eat some T. Rex barbecue."
"Heiko, can you get that cup for me?"
"I'd love to, but I can't. I'm not allergic to it."
"I'm a storm trooper, I mess up things."
"What's for dinner? We could always go pick up some noodles or beans or something."
"Hey mom, did you know that me and Anaya heard a smell outside and we didn't know what it is...?"
"Heiko, what did you do at school today?"
"I ate barbeque chicken at lunch today. I ate it all and Teya and Kes gave me more, but I wanted a really big piece."
"Perkier is a new planet. I saw it when I went to the top of the mountain."

Fabulous Fall
These two crazy boys sure are keeping us busy!
It has been a gorgeous, perfect fall. We are currently in a cold snap (thanks a lot polar vortex), but hopefully fall comes back for another couple of weeks once this is finally over so we can enjoy some more outside time without winter coats!

Theo is one!
I can't believe it has been a year. My baby is not a baby anymore. He is walking and talking and growing like a weed.
Our one year checkup with the doctor is on Friday, so I don't have official stats on his size yet, but I can tell you he is big. He may have dropped below his percentile curve because of the last month and a half of digestive issues... but he is still a big ol hunk of love.
What Theo is up to at 1 year old:
-Knows 5 words! They are: mama, bye, ball, bottle, apple. Jonas is a little upset that he learned "apple" before "dada"... the boy has his priorities, and food is definitely at the top.
-eating everything
-running after his big brother
-tackling his big brother
-smothering his big brother with love
-throwing balls (quite well I must say)
-picking up heavy objects with his Incredible Hulk strength
-falling into the pillows in the cozy reading corner
-snuggling with his lovie
-clapping
-putting objects into containers
-taking objects out of containers
-banging stick-like objects onto anything and everything (including human heads)
-trying anything he sees his brother do
Theo is just an absolute joy, so incredibly happy and friendly. When I picked him up from school one day last week he was over talking to another baby's mom, and one of his teachers told me, "You know, he is the friendliest kid we have... all the parents know his name." And sure enough, they do. When I picked him up today, I lifted him up but instead of being happy to see me, he was too busy telling another mom, "bye" and waving to her. My funny boy.
To celebrate the big birthday, we took Theo and Heiko to Georgetown, CO on Saturday to ride the Georgetown Loop Railroad. Instead of a party, we thought getting out to the mountains would be a nice change of pace, and it was so lovely. A perfect fall day; crisp air, clear skies, golden aspen leaves. The train was fun, the views were incredible, and the boys had a blast. Theo was so good, so happy all day. Basically, his usual self. =)
